Founded by two Newport sailors and restaurant entrepreneurs, Larry Phillips & Patrick Kilroy, Midtown Race Club was born with aspirations to bring world-class sailing and waterfront access to the Newport community. In 2013, Larry and PK opened their first property, Midtown Oyster Bar, an iconic three-story seafood inspired restaurant. After many years of success, they decided to embark on their second business venture together called Surf Club; bringing elevated casualness to Newport with their famous brick-oven pizza and craft cocktails. Fast forwarding to 2022, a neighboring waterfront property was listed for lease. Both owners knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to live out their dreams of creating a multipurpose, harborside venue for Newporter’s and visitors to enjoy. The Midtown Race Club is currently under construction with plans to unveil in early 2025!
